IMDb, IBDb, IOBDb, and More!

At Stage Door Designs, we strive to keep our clients up to date on all the industry's online resources and tools. That's why we were so excited when we recently discovered the Internet Off-Broadway Data Base! If you're active in the industry, you have probably heard of IBDb and you have DEFINITELY heard of IMDb. We're glad that a similar platform exists for all the great Off-Broadway productions, and so we were inspired to put together a post about the different sites you should be aware of!

IMDb
We'll start with the big one. The Internet Movie Database is a fantastic industry resource for film and television projects. If you're active in the "on-screen" aspect of the biz, you should definitely have an IMDb Pro account. A pro account gives you tons of customization options, and lets you manage your credits, bio, and contact information. IBDb
The Internet Broadway Database is similar to IMDb, but exists exclusively for Broadway theatre productions. If you've been on Broadway, you should make sure your information is present on this site. IBDb doesn't offer a membership program like IMDb, but it does accept requests to alter or add information if you have substantial documentation.

IOBDb
As previously mentioned, we just learned about the Internet Off-Broadway Database! This platform is operated by the Lucille Lortel Foundation, and is a great industry resource for NY Theatre professionals and fans alike. Much like IBDb, you can submit requests if you feel you should have information represented in the database. Reach out to us and we'll help!

Playbill and Broadway World
In addition to all the great database sites, there are other industry platforms you should be aware of. Playbill and Broadway World are not only useful for industry news and audition postings, but they also have information about current and previous productions and the people involved in them.

A lot of our clients who started as child actors have pages on these sites and don't even realize it! You should take a look and see if your information exists on these industry platforms.
